J Palmer Construction offers you the opportunity of building a new construction home to spec. Here are some of the requirements and careful planning needed in the process:
Foundation and framing:
- The construction process begins with pouring the foundation and framing the structure of the home. This includes installing the flooring, walls, and roof.
Plumbing and electrical work
- Next, plumbing and electrical systems are installed in the home, including wiring, outlets, and fixtures.
Design and planning
- Once the site is prepared, the homeowner works with an architect or home designer to develop a plan for the new home. This includes creating a blueprint, selecting materials and finishes, and obtaining any necessary permits.
Insulation and drywall:
- Insulation is added to the walls and ceilings, followed by drywall installation.
Finishing work:
- Once the drywall is installed, the home is ready for finishing work, including interior and exterior paint, flooring, cabinetry, and countertops.
Inspection and final touches:
- After the finishing work is complete, the home is inspected to ensure that it meets all safety and building code requirements. The final touches are then added, such as landscaping, and the home is ready for occupancy.

We contacted this company to do a remodeling job (removing wood paneling and installing drywall). Turned out that another part of the family has done roofing and exterior painting for us, and we were very happy with the job results. This particular job was done with great attention and care: the contractor is very responsible and all workers involved - from removal of paneling to in-between cleaning and drywall installation - every single person was very hard-working and meticulous. The paint job was done by "the other family business" - again excellent job! Contractor was also very informative, would call before sending workers, and always answered his phone.
